I'd love to go to Hardly Strictly one of these days. But having Richard Thompson and the Jayhawks on at the same time just isn't playing fair. What do you reckon the chances are of Richard T. sitting in with Del McCoury for 1952 Vincent Black Lightning? That could either be great fun or a total car crash - I'm not sure which.

Wow .... hahahhah - The Gourds -
I remember a loooong time ago when Napster was free and fun, I downloaded a cover tune supposedly by Phish- it was Snoop Dogs "Gin and Juice"
After listening to it i knew right away it wasn't phish. After a little investigating, I found out it was this band, The Gourds, from Texas I do believe. I haven't seen their name or heard much about em since - and that was probably a good ten years ago.
Very interesting indeed.

They have a bunch of shows on the archive; never seen them but a lot of musician friends really enjoy them:

hey BlueDevil, I'm goin to the sunday show (from noon on)
I do want to include Tea Leaf Green. Any picks from the other stages prior to TLG's set? I'm pretty naive on most of the other bands....

If you are there from noon on, and depending on difficulty of moving around, I'd try for:
Banjo Stage
* 1:45pm Ralph Stanley & The Clinch Mountain Boys

Star Stage
* 2:30pm Elvis Costello's High Whines & Spirits

Rooster Stage
* 11:55am Kevin Welch & Kieran Kane & Fats Kaplin
* 1pm Bonnie "Prince" Billy

Arrow Stage
* 12:00pm Moonalice

* 3:20pm The Waybacks [fun time]
* 4:30pm Pegi Young [Neil likely to be there w/ the Mrs for part of the set]
* 5:50pm Tea Leaf Green

But it's all subject to change, who sounds good, difficulty of moving around, etc. Have fun. I wanted to see Plant and Krauss today but work, as always, seems to keep me from the fun.

having Emmylou Harris and Tea Leaf Green at different stages at the same time is tough also... OK, I'll go with TLG ...and the Waybacks a few hrs earlier? (the same Arrow Stage) I'll check out Kindest's music hero's, and maybe meet the man in the purple house
